The photographer Nina Berman (*1960) is a documentary photographer with a primary interest in the American political and social landscape. Her images of wounded veterans from the Iraq war are internationally known and have received numerous prizes. She is the recipient of many awards in art and journalism, among others: Hasselblad Masters Award (2009), World Press Photo Award (2007, 2005), New York Foundation for the Arts (2006), Open Society Institute (2005). Berman has received editorial commissions from following magazines: Harpers, the New York Times Magazine, National Geographic, German Geo, Fortune, Colors, TIME, Newsweek, and others. Her monographs "Homeland" and "Purple Hearts – Back from Iraq" were both published by Trolley.
