Bearing Responsibility New Delhi, India 2008 A waste picker working in a metal segregation complex in Seemapuri is carrying an entanglement of wire on his head. Next to paper, glass, plastic and many other goods, metal plays a central role in the waste pickers’ income. In a society where millions live in desolate poverty, nothing is redundant, everything has a value – especially precious metal.  |
