Project support for photographers

This three-part workshop, teached by reknown photographer Nathalie Mohadjer, will discuss planned or already started projects in documentary photography. It will focus on the debate about the artistic and thematic development of the participants subjects, as well as on the reflection of photographic positions in the context of current events.

Nathalie Mohadjer will support the evolution of the projects in close dialogue with the participants, discuss the resulting photographs in detail, and provide assistance in: project development, business planning, acquisition of sponsors/funding opportunities, image selection, and the planning of a publication and presentation strategy.

Workshop structure:

First Date (28 April 2012)
Subject & concept development and project outline: contextualization, work scheduling, image review - if the project has already started - as well as research for funding opportunities

Second Date (18 August 2012)
Concept revision & adjustment: image review, editing

Third Date (24 November 2012)
Concept presentation & marketing: finalization of concept and editing, fictitious portfolio review in preparation for the presentation to curators, museum directors and picture editors

Detailed picture reviews and discussions on the current development of the projects are part of all meetings.

Nathalie Mohadjer (*1979) studied Visual Communication, specializing in photography and Fine Art, at the Bauhaus University Weimar, the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and at the London College of Communication LCC. She has extensive experience in the creation and realization of photographic projects. Her work has been published throughout Europe and was included in many solo as well as group shows, including: Les Rencontres D'Arles, Visa pour L'Image Perpignan, Gallery Chambre à part Strasbourg, Goethe Institute, Lyon (all France), Kaunas Photo Festival (Lithuania), Noorderlicht Gallery of Groningen (Netherlands), Kunsthalle Erfurt, Weimar Art Gallery.

Nathalie Mohadjer has received numerous awards, including the Abisag-Tüllmann-Prize 2011. She lives and works as a freelance photographer and artist in Paris and is a member of the collective Le Bar Floréal photography.

Fee:
75.- Euro per day = 225.- Euro for the entire workshop for members of the Society for Humanistic Photography
95.- Euro per day = 285.- Euro for the entire workshop for non-members
